Though having been Jerry’s fans since 2001, I am always happy to be a “diving” fans on the web. Yet, after attending the four fantastic nights of concerts, there are too many lingering memory pieces of the concerts and I can’t help share some with you:
22.3.06 (Wed) The first night was supposed to be a warm-up but not applicable to Jerry’s fans. Jerry’s fans were already ready to take off and support Jerry whenever he needed in the concerts. Light boards and cheering from Jerry’s worldwide fans shone over the coliseum right from the beginning of the concert (till the end of the last night :-)). Frankly speaking, Jerry was a bit nervous that night. He talked little. But he danced marvelously even though his last dangerous posture of solo dance cost his head a big accidental hit on the ground! Gosh… it must be painful; otherwise, he would not pat his head so many times immediately. Poor him, he was just too immersed in the performance! Fortunately it was the one and only one hurt in the four nights. The last postures of dance in the three other nights were perfect!
23.3.06 (Thur) It was a relief to see that Jerry was relaxed and gave the audience superb performances since that night. Before he sang “童話”, he asked the audience to sing with him to serve as a beautiful memory to his mother. The harmonious singing from the choir of audience with Jerry was exceptionally amazing and beyond any words. (I have to emphasize “exceptionally” because during the four concerts, it was too easy to pick any moments of harmonious singing of the audience with Jerry :-) )
24.3.06 (Fri) Jerry’s enthusiasm had reached to the climax that night. After playing the piano perfectly, he was excited and interacted with the audience like a child. He granted his gratitude to his fans and melted all our hearts. Besides his passion, I could also appreciate his thoughtfulness and sincerity to F3 and his fans as well. There was a girl in the front row of the blue zone trying to give Jerry a bunch of flowers several times whenever Jerry walked to her side during the various parts with F3. Jerry chose to ignore her. It was understandable as Jerry did not want to overshadow others when he was with F3. But as you all know, his fans were as persistent as Jerry. The girl did not give up and eventually in the last part of the concert, Jerry surrendered to receive her flowers. He held the bunch a while. Then he put the flowers down in the staircase before he returned to the centre of the stage and joined F3. Can you see his heart yet dilemma in keeping both his fans and F3 happy? He was the one who took the initiative to lift up Vic, take F3’s hands and hug as a group!
25.3.06 (Sat) A night of unexpected delights : Duet dancing of Jerry and Van brought the hilarious joy to the audience.
A night of reflection: Singing of Cantonese song “追”expressed his inner self and also his consideration to his fans. When he shouted in Cantonese “我好高興認識你地” after the song, in my heart I immediately replied “me too”…
A night of reconciliation: you would know what I mean.
A night of perfect yet not perfect closing: perfect as a closing of one phase of Jerry heading to a new development after FL. Not so perfect for his fans who had waited so long for the second encore but in vain. As Jerry’s long time fans, it was legitimate to expect F4 would come out like the last concert in 2002. Emptiness- the after-concert syndrome- of his fans has certainly been aggravated.
To conclude, it was a complex night. I seemed riding the roller coaster of emotions with laughter, shouting and tears all mixed up in one single night. Never have I been or will I be in another concert that is so entertaining yet so rich in meaning and so touching!
P.S. In the after-party, although Jerry should be exhausted, he showed his “Oral-B” smile during the whole interview with the media. He must be really, really excited. Sincerely hope that he keeps this smile in his new phase of career all the way.
